About Church
The history of The Bible Baptist Church Mafoluku is unique in many aspects because the church was born out of First Baptist Church Mafoluku, but all is history now.
The effort of the following Deaconate cannot be over look: Dn. B.A Adesina, Late Dn. Remi Ajibade and Dns. Olabode, as they key into the vision of what is called The Bible Baptist Church. Also, some of the pioneer members include Pa. Z.A Ariwodola, Pa. Adeniji, Mama Oduleye, Late Evang. F.O Akande, Late Mr. G.O Oyelude, Pastor T. Olaniyan, Evang. T. Moses and the likes.
The first full service was conducted on 15th February, 1998, at Mr. Olaleye’s residence (Jola Nursery/Primary School). The mantle of leading the church fell on Deacon B.A Adesina as he was chosen to be the first leader.
The church got its name, THE BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH through a divine revelation as shared by Deacon B.A Adesina. When Deacon Adesina moved to Ijegun from Mafoluku, Pastor Olaniya was equally chosen to shepherd the Church till April 2000, when Mr. Dejo Olaniyi took over.
In order to savor the taste of a trained Baptist Pastor, the church invited Pastor Akanbi (who was then a Baptist Student Pastor) from Ogbomoso, who reshaped and reposition the church in line with Baptist doctrines and values.
Pastor Olaniya later took over from Pastor Akanbi. As at when there is need for full time pastor, some student pastors were put to test, among whom we have Pastor Subuloye, the present Reverend of Araromi Baptist Church. None of these Pastors was called to head the church.
Later in year 2005, Pastor Steve Adewuyi was called to shepherd the church effective from November 1, 2005. Pastor Steve Adewuyi was the first Pastor to be inducted into the leadership of the church in May 18,2008. And ordained as Reverend in the year 2009
The church was adopted by First Baptist Church Oshodi in November 30, 2004, with certain condition, ultimately the church is enjoined to co-operate with the Association, Conference and Convention in all their ramifications, which we have not default.
Although, the journey has not been easy, but we give glory to God Almighty who has been our source of courage, wisdom, faith and inspiration. Above all, we can proudly say that despite all the odds and difficulties, we maintain an Olympian calm.
As part of development and intensification within the period, members have been baptized, we can equally boast of graduates of master-life programme. All recognized departments in Baptist family have been institutionalized and are functioning effectively in the church.
As a new covenant church, the church has not shirked in its responsibility to provide succor for the needy and oppressed.
To God be the glory, the church record average of 150 worshipers on Sundays.
LONG LIVE THE BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH!
