About Church

All glory, honour and praise to the Lord God Almighty who was, who is, and who is to come. The Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. Whose wisdom unsearchable and His way excellent.

God in His wisdom allowed this Church, Zion Baptist Church to start Twenty years ago to the glory of God on the 31/12/1994, the Church was born. The name Zion Baptist Church came as a result of the inspiration received by Dn. S. A Alaafia of first Baptist Church Oshodi.

The birth of the Church was announced to Orile-Oshodi Baptist Church through a letter dated 31st December 1994 addressed to the Church Council, Orile-Oshodi Baptist Church. Here part of the letter is quoted “With the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit we, some members of Orile-Oshodi Baptist Church are happy to inform you that we have Organized ourselves to form a new Church which shall be called ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, for the furtherance of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and the enlargement of His Kingdom” signed by Bro. E.O Mulero the Church Secretary. And the response came from Orile-Oshodi Baptist Church on her letter headed paper dated 18th January 1995, addressed to Zion Baptist Church through the Secretary and part is quoted “Since the action was said to have been taken under the guidance and directive of the Holy Spirit, We wish you every success in the Lord’s Vineyard” Signed by Bro. Emma W. Adegboyega, the Church Secretary.

Copies of these letter were sent to the secretary Moderator, and consultant of Irepodun Baptist Association and also to the Lagos Baptist conference Secretary and the Chairman Lagos state Baptist conference.
